The practice of reading each verse of the weekly Torah portion twice in Hebrew, followed by the Targum Onkelos translation.
About This Practice
ืฉื ืื ืืงืจื ืืืื ืชืจืืื (Shnayim Mikra VEchad Targum) is mentioned in the Talmud (Berachot 8a). One should complete the weekly parasha along with the congregation by reading each verse twice in the original Hebrew text and once in Targum Onkelos.
